Principal's Message
Dr. Martin O. Gomez, Principal

Hello TEAM U!
Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year, Highlanders!
On behalf of our entire staff, welcome to another exciting year at Upland High School! I continue to be inspired by the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community.
The 2025-2026 school year was another successful one. Our students excelled in academics, athletics, arts, and career pathways. We celebrated league championships, CIF and State qualifiers, state champions in theater and percussion, outstanding performances in Winter Guard, Science Fair medalists, History Day state qualifiers, and record numbers of students earning college credit through our UCollege Academy and dual enrollment programs.
Most importantly, Upland High School was recognized as a California Distinguished School, earned PBIS Gold recognition for our positive school climate, and was named one of the most admired schools in the Inland Empire. These accomplishments reflect our commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and high-achieving environment where every student can thrive.
As we begin this new school year, we remain focused on three priorities: maintaining a positive school culture, providing high-quality instruction, and preparing every student for success in college, career, and life. Together, we will continue building on our tradition of excellence while challenging ourselves to reach even greater heights.
Thank you for being part of TEAM U. I look forward to another incredible year of learning, growth, and achievement.
Let's make it a great year, Highlanders!
