The Advanced Placement (AP) courses are for highly motivated students who wish to experience college-level learning and who would like to earn college credit.
There are many advantages to enrolling in these courses, not the least of which is exposure to a more challenging curriculum. Students enrolled in these courses must understand what is expected of them. Expectations placed upon AP students will be significantly higher when it comes to the course workload. In addition to increased content rigor and homework, students are expected to review their grades often with their teachers and as necessary, to look for support and participate in intervention if their grade falls to a “C.”
Students who are enrolled in an AP course must adhere to the following:
- Study one hour a day for my AP class (re-write notes, read, study, etc.)
- Complete assignments and projects on time.
- Attend after school sessions when offered by the teacher.
- Commit to the entire year of coursework for 2022-2023 to prepare for the AP exam in May
